Great pointers - and ones I hope not to see when I do my presentations!

Good stuff! Had a date Friday, did catch myself looking into space.
Great information Lena,

I've actually called people out on their "bordom" before. Depends on the situation but I have gotton people involved with my conversation just by pointing out the fact that they were bored. People don't like to be told what they are feeling and will do things to prove you wrong. The only way they can prove you wrong is to become interested in the conversation...it works again depends on the situation

Great stuff. I often change the topic if i see they are bored. Maybe come back later or not. I'm noticing what i do when i get bored with conversations. Any suggestions?

There are two ways to look at this.

1) Matt's way...get them engaged.

2) Why would I want to continue a boring conversation?

I'm not talking about being thrilled..or being entertained...but when the new person I'm meeting...and I'm deciding if I want to know them better...and they prove they are dull. Manners only go so far.

Thanks,

Intuitive John

A big part of the solution is to have them do most of the talking. People never seem to tire of talking about themselves. It's when we carry on a conversation that focuses on us and our interests without consideration for the other person that folks get bored.

It's always good to recognize the signs of boredom...then you have an opportunity to re-engage before it's too late. Nice post!
