Though building rapport is all important. The SINGLE most important aspect in selling boils down to 2 words: "ask questions".

HI there,

I actually like "do onto others as they would like you to" much better than the other. If I treated people the way I want to be treated, I could be missing a huge piece of what THEY need.

Thanks for this.

What is referred to as the "Golden Rule", i.e. "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is generally good advice. Asking questions about a person's interests, as you advise, is also great because people love talking about themselves and their interests.

Yep if you treat others with respect generally you will recieve the same treatment back. When you deal with people who don't like to talk your advice to ask open ended questions is spot on

This is such a fundamental truth. I have known people who talk endlessly about themselves, and never let others get a word in edgewise. After a while, no one wants to listen.

Hi Lena,

I LOVE it! I agree completely. Rapport and well we are in or out of rapport is essential in communication. As a dating and relationship coach, part of what I coach clients on is making very specific conscious effort to create and build rapport in a body language flirting manner RIGHT AWAY in Date0.

All the best,
